A while ago I received a sample of the Diorshow Black Out Mascara and ever since this mascara has been on my wishlist. It’s like kohl for the lashes and whoever knows me knows as well that I’m a huge fan of intense black eyelashes. It’s always difficult to find a perfect, or even a really good, mascara, so you can imagine that I’m very happy with my purchase. Diorshow Black Out recreates the captivating effect of kohl in a mascara for extreme volume with a charcoal-like finish. With my Asian eyelashes I know in advance that there will be no curl, let alone volume, so let me start off by saying that I can not review this aspect. I’m sorry, it are my roots.. Though Dior itself promises spectacular volume and since we’re talking about Dior I think it must be true. After all, Dior’s mascaras have reached cult status.
Aside from spectacular volume the Diorshow Black Out Mascara also promises to be extremely intense black. It recreates the captivating effect of kohl in a mascara with a charcoal-like finish. Thanks to the Black Fix Complex, a combination of infinitely saturated black pigments, this smooth cream formula is the first formula to mimic the mesmerizing intensity of kohl. The intense black powder is combined with a derivative of gum Arabic so that the mascara is incredibly strong. The result is a dramatic intensity!
The tube is simple and long, black with a silver trim and writing. However I believe this is the old packaging. If I’m not mistaken all of the products in the Diorshow range have received a makeover and look way more stylish and chique nowadays. I don’t know if this is the case in every country, after all the new package wasn’t available in Turkey when I purchased this. The brush is quite long and the bristles are quite far apart from each other. It might seem a bit difficult to use at first, but I must say that if you can get the hang of it, it’s so easy to apply. Though, a word of warning, the mascara sets quite fast so you’ve to work quickly as well.
The mascara does smudge a little, but doesn’t clump. It separates the lashes and makes them long and thick. It’s easy to build up layers, the formula glides on smoothly and draws each lash out to show-stopping lengths. As for the colour, I must say it’s really amazing, super dark black and gives intensely dramatic lashes. The mascara gives instant result but the more layers you’ll apply, the more you get that wide-eyed glamorous look. It’s a bit pricey, but for those who can justify buying designer make-up I would definitely recommend the Diorshow Black Out Mascara, especially if you are looking for an extreme-black mascara.
